Guided by Rosatom’s unified strategy, REIN JSC develops international projects paying particular attention to its contribution to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – 17 goals established in 2015 by the UN General Assembly as “a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”.

An integrated approach to solving sustainable development issues promotes a comfortable environment for life, while ensuring the most careful treatment of the environment and natural resources.

Rosatom is a member of the United Nations Global Compact
– the largest international corporate social responsibility and sustainable development UN initiative for businesses worldwide. By joining the initiative in October 2020, Rosatom confirmed its commitment to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and the desire to implement them in its activities.

As a Rosatom subsidiary, REIN JSC is guided by the Unified Industry Policy on Sustainable Development of the State Corporation Rosatom and industry regulatory documents in the field of environmental protection, corporate social responsibility and occupational health and safety.

The key business objectives of REIN JSC is to contribute to ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources (Goal 7), being fundamental for making progress on climate change (Goal 13) and achieving all the other UN SDGs.

REIN JSC activities in implementing international projects in the field of nuclear energy promote overall sustainable development goals and are in line with the sustainable development principles.

We need to achieve common understanding that promotion of sustainable development is not an extra burden on the core business of a company. The company’s business and its internal processes should be developed aiming to make fulfillment of business objectives in correspondence with sustainable development principles a normal mode of company’s daily operations.
